The ongoing revolution in the life sciences has important ramifications for society. Today’s society is facing profound ethical, legal, economic and policy questions related to medicine, public health, food production, the environment and even the very meaning of life. Through multidisciplinary research, teaching and community involvement, the LSSP addresses issues that begin where science leaves off. It seeks to make connections between the logic and languages of science and the humanities. Its ultimate goal is to promote responsible application of advances in the life sciences and a broader understanding of the interactions between scientific advances and societal changes.
